چکیده

Urbanization is a major cause of biotic homogenization and habitat fragmentation for native communities. However, the role urbanization on success biological invasions continental scale has yet to be explored. may facilitate establishment invasive species by minimizing niche differentiation between invaded ranges. In such cases, we might expect anthropogenic variables have stronger influence geographic distribution compared populations. this study, use ecological modeling define non-native brown widow spider ( Latrodectus geometricus ) three black widows L. hespersus, mactans, variolus in North America gauge importance ranges at scale. We also quantify overlap with each assess potential regions risk impact. Consistent our hypothesis, find that strongly constrained urban environments, while distributions are more driven climatic factors. These results show plays significant facilitating invasion, weakening significance climate realized its range.
